LOS ANGELES, CA (March 6, 2024)- The City of Los Angeles will mark National 311 Day with a week-long campaign aimed at encouraging usage among Angelenos by showcasing the many services accessible through the City’s MyLA311 platform.

The City of Los Angeles’ MyLA311 system serves as a vital conduit for linking residents and businesses to City services and information. Over the past 12 months, it has facilitated more than 2.3 million contacts through its mobile app, website, and call center. Currently, MyLA311 provides access to 68 service request types across 11 City departments, addressing commonly requested services such as bulky item pickup, graffiti removal, and illegal dumping.

“Last year, the city delivered 100,000 more services than the year prior and we will continue to deliver for Angelenos this year,” said Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. “We are taking action through Executive Directive 5 to upgrade service delivery to improve customer service for Angelenos by decreasing wait times, enhancing the quality of the service and better communicating the result of service requests. I hope all Angelenos consider participating in 3-1-1 week and I thank our city crews who fulfill hundreds of thousands of requests each year.”

From March 11th to March 15th, City services will take center stage across various communication platforms, spanning traditional and social media, as well as video broadcasts on the City’s Channel 35 and other grassroots outreach channels. This week-long initiative will showcase the process of accessing MyLA311 to request many City services, including bulky item pickup, graffiti removal, pothole repair, addressing illegal dumping, managing fallen trees, pet adoption, and reporting streetlight outages.

As part of the weeklong campaign, LA Animal Services will be extending reduced adoption fees from March 12th to March 15th, encouraging community members to open their homes to new pets. During this period, adoption fees for dogs will be $51, puppies $75, cats $12.50, and kittens $25. Notably, furry companions adopted from LA Animal Services will join their new families already spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and, for LA City residents, licensed.

Also part of the week's activities City Council offices have been invited to engage in a friendly challenge aimed at generating the highest percentage increase in service requests with the goal of ensuring that Angelenos can access city services easily.

“Many Angelenos don't know how easy it is to access City services through MyLA311,” said City Council President Paul Krekorian, who represents last year's challenge winner, District 2.  “With enthusiastic outreach on social media and by word of mouth, my team reached a lot of residents in our district last year and we plan to do the same again.  Wherever you live, I encourage you to spread the word. City services are as close as your phone, especially with the handy MyLA311cellphone app,” said Krekorian.

“3-1-1 Week is a great opportunity to remind stakeholders of the power they hold in their hands,” said Board of Public Works Commissioner Vahid Khorsand. “Whetherthrough the call center, website or MyLA311 app, this is an easy to use on-call concierge service to deploy city services.
