2022 NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK
WHAT:
The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works celebrates National Public Works Week (NPWW) from May 15-21, 2022. Held annually in May, NPWW recognizes and highlights the important and outstanding work efforts by thousands of hard working Public Works professionals. This year's theme is “Ready and Resilient.”
The City’s Public Works Department has more than 5,000 employees who are responsible for the construction, renovation and operation of City facilities and infrastructure, as well as the delivery of public safety and environmental programs. They are a leader in innovative programs and projects that enhance the quality of lives for all Angelenos.
“This week is for us to salute our incredible employees in the Department of Public Works who work every day to provide and maintain core services and to enhance the quality of life for the residents and businesses of Los Angeles,” said Board of Public Works President Aura Garcia.

4th Annual Virtual Beautification Conference
The Board of Public Works, Office of Community Beautification and Keep Los Angeles Beautiful are partnering with city and community leaders for this annual conference open to all with a shared vision of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Los Angeles. The virtual event will include panel presentations on key topics including recycling and reuse, water conservation, and community beautification projects.

City Council Recognition
The City Council will acknowledge and recognize Public Works Week during its regular meeting and Board of Public Works President Aura Garcia will provide remarks.

Accessing L.A. WithTeam Virtual Event
This annual professional and personal services event is held in honor of Public Works Week and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. It provides small businesses with the opportunity to gain valuable perspectives and access resources to promote economic development and contracting with the City of Los Angeles.
