Teresa Villegas was confirmed by the Los Angeles City Council as Board of Public Works Commissioner. Mayor Eric Garcetti nominated Villegas on September 24 to replace Cecilia Cabello on the Commission.
Villegas most recently was with the L.A. County Department of Public as community affairs and governmental affairs representative. Prior to that, Villegas spent more than a decade as a legislative deputy in the offices of County Supervisors Hilda L. Solis and Glora Molina – where she was principal advisor on issues ranging from energy and water to air quality, planning, and parks.
Teresa’s deep experience and strong commitment to environmental justice will make her a powerful addition to the Board of Public Works,” said Mayor Garcetti. “Her leadership, ideas, and vision will be extraordinary assets in growing my administration’s work pursue a sustainable future and give Angelnos the excellent service they deserve.”
