Meet Tania. Tania is an Assistant Inspector IV with the Bureau of Contract Administration. She is a native Angeleno who has served the City of Los Angeles for 15 years. In 2006, she began her City career as a Clerk Typist with the Housing + Community Investment Department. She was promoted to Senior Administrative Clerk and supervised clerical staff for more than 9 years before accepting an Assistant Inspector position with the Bureau of Contract Administration in March 2019.

Tania has worked on a variety of construction sites in the City doing inspections of Utility and Excavation Permits, Secondary Sewer Renewal Program projects and Sidewalk Repair Program projects. Additionally, she has worked on many Cash Contracts including North Atwater Bridge, ARGO Drain Sub-Basin Facility, West LA Veteran Affairs Home Shelter and Potrero Canyon Park Grading. During the last two years, Tania has received all of her construction training from Contract Administration’s knowledgeable training team as well as on-the-job training from Inspectors and Senior Inspectors.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she has spent the last nine months serving as a Disaster Service Worker and assisting the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health with contact tracing efforts. Tania started out interviewing patients and contacts and quickly rose to a Team Lead position providing crucial training on Health Department processes and systems to other contact tracers. Since November 2020, she has been a Division Manager and currently supervises and trains up to 60 staff members.   

Tania credits her success to the extraordinary support of her family and the great managers, supervisors and staff that she has had throughout the years.
