Meet Yolanda. A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Yolanda served our nation in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years as a biomedical repair technician and was called on to become a member of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command Group. She then worked in the solar electricity industry for five years before joining the Bureau of Contract Administration as an Assistant Inspector in 2016. Yolanda diligently applied herself to her studies to move through the ranks of the Assistant Inspector Program and was promoted to Construction Inspector in 2018.

Today, Yolanda is assigned to the Metropolitan Construction Inspection Division - East working in the South Los Angeles and San Pedro areas. She is the lead inspector for the large private development project, the Ponte Vista and the Hamilton Ave. Widening Capital Project, while also balancing many other daily inspections on a wide variety of Public Works projects.

Yolanda is known as a strong leader who approaches work with a practical problem-solving attitude. Her military background continues to guide her and can be seen through her methodical approach to documentation and how she presents information. She has quickly established herself as an inspector who can be counted on to tackle complex projects with an intense desire to learn. She is always eager to meet with and help community members and serves as a mentor to other inspectors and contractors. Yolanda takes pride in watching City of Los Angeles projects come to life and become useful additions to our communities.
